You may have an unpaid court fine or obligation placed with PayCourt for collection. We work closely with hundreds of court jurisdictions to help you resolve these fines quickly, securely, and respectfully.
No. PayCourt never purchases or owns debt. We act strictly as a third-party collection agency engaged directly by the court; typically through the State’s Attorney’s office, the Circuit Court Clerk’s office, or another authority designated by the state. We work on the court’s behalf to manage and recover outstanding fines, but the obligation always remains to the court at all times.
Yes. Many of our messages and letters include direct contact information for the Circuit Court Clerk’s office. You can always call the court directly to verify that PayCourt is authorized to work on your case.
Yes. PayCourt is a registered DBA in Illinois and a licensed collection agency.
You can verify our business registration through the Illinois Secretary of State’s Business Entity Search.
Our Illinois Collection Agency license can be verified by visiting the IL Department of Financial & Professional Regulation, selecting Collection Agency as the License Type, entering 017021524 as the License Number, completing the CAPTCHA, and clicking Search.

Yes. Our world-class payment system is secure and compliant with industry standards. We never store sensitive payment data beyond what’s required to process your transaction.

Absolutely. PayCourt operates under strict federal and state requirements for ethical collections and follows industry best practices designed to protect consumers. While the court-ordered nature of these obligations means the rules aren’t identical to ordinary consumer debt, we align with nearly all of the same protections because it’s simply the right way to work.
No. PayCourt does not report court fines to credit bureaus. Your account with us is strictly about resolving your obligations with the court.
Yes. PayCourt is a registered DBA corporation in Illinois and a fully licensed collection agency. We’re also authorized to operate and collect on behalf of courts in other states where we’re engaged.
PayCourt’s role is limited to assisting the court collect and manage outstanding fines. PayCourt does NOT issue warrants, suspend licenses, or use intimidation tactics. We’re not notified if the court has an active warrant or other enforcement measures on your case. If you’re concerned about possible legal consequences, contact the court directly to confirm your status.
